The theory helps us by defining communication as a process by means a message goes from the emiter to the receiver using a communication channel. Thus, there are four key components: the emiter, the receiver, the message and the communication chanel. Usually, the first two are easyly identified and defined from the begining. The last two are the most important key elements, and, what are more complicated, they are interdependent elements. Usually, this interdependence is neglected most of the time and the cause of a failer communication is a broken link between mesage and the communication chanel.

The web gives us, for more than 10 years, a good communication oportunity and it will become, in a very short time, the most important communication chanel.
